Gentle Neck Stretching Exercises

Four Neck Stretches

Daily life, poor posture and injuries often result in tight neck muscles. Learn these four gentle stretching exercises of the neck to reduce muscle stiffness. First exercises can be done while lying on back (to support the attendance) and the maximum time to run from a sitting position. Read on to examine these four years. 

Flexion Stretch - Chin to Chest

1) Gently bend your head forward while bringing your chin toward your chest.

2) Stop when a stretch is felt in the back of your neck.

3) Hold position for 20 seconds.

4) Return to starting position. (neck in midline position)

5) Repeat above stretch 5 more times.

Extension Stretch - Eyes to Sky

1) Tilt head back slightly so your eyes look to the sky.
2) Stop when a stretch in the front of the neck.
3) Hold for 20 seconds.
4) Return to starting position. (Center neck position)
5) Repeat the stretch five times.


Rotation - Side to Side

1) Turn your head to the left, looking over his left shoulder.

2) until the right seems to lengthen the neck.

3) Hold the position for 20 seconds.

4) Return to starting position. (The position of the midline neck)

5) Repeat 5 times higher stroke.

6) Turn your head to the right looking over your right shoulder.

7) Stop when the left side seems to stretch the neck.

8) Hold for 20 seconds. 9) Return to starting position. (The neck of the position of the midline)

10) Repeat the stretch five times.

Lateral Flexion - Ear to Shoulder

1) Fold the neck try to touch your left ear to shoulder.

3) Hold the position for 20 seconds.

5) Repeat 5 times higher stroke.

6) carefully bend the neck trying to touch the ear of the right shoulder.

7) Stop when the left side seems to stretch the neck.

8) Hold for 20 seconds.

9) Return to starting position. (The neck of the position of the midline)

10) Repeat the stretch five times.
